Procrastination to 'progression'... but wait, if the hurdle isn't noise pollution, it's new-to-me formatting rules such as for slugs and action. My current obstacle - the dreaded finger-wagging 'no-no' this time is acronyms. So, I'm in a pickle again. VERA: That new doctor wants to put me in hospital, for that, that ECT treatment. What's it stand for again, Yardstick? What other way to write 'ECT' for it not to appear odd? A nice cup of tea now - leading to procrastination until the writing community's pigeon coos it's way with vital information. Progress me further, the former is not an option, but a cup of tea is. Did I turn on the kettle? Best, infamous Title: Re: Acronym/s in dialogue Post by: Pitchpatch on September 21, 2013, 02:34 PM I don't see a problem -- as long as you're consistent with your chosen form of acronym expression (cap letters solely versus caps plus periods). It's most common to omit periods.
