It's just bandwidth.  Sheridan tweeted about it yesterday.

Even if it does get shut down the non-script content will remain as I have did a lot of work for it and I will make sure that the interviews and articles I wrote are up on some site to help writers out.

I will be in Nashville again this year for the Conference and Sheridan, I believe, will be there with me.

That's good to know. And the interviews are well worth the sites existence alone.

This.

And when does the Nashville conference take place?

I have Press Pass so that one.   Cheesy

I honestly don't know otherwise.  The panels are okay.  I had the most fun during the lunch last year though so hopefully my Press Pass still covers the lunch.  If not, I guess I'll just be sitting in on panels...

I have to agree with T&J.

$100 will buy you a LOT of excellent screenwriting books instead.

They haven't posted 2011 yet, but looking at the 2010 schedule not much excites me.

http://nashscreen.com/schedule.html

Almost nothing focusing on the craft of writing and storytelling?  It all starts with a great story well written.  All the networking and agent wrangling means nothing if you ain't got the goods.

On the other hand, rubbing shoulders with working, successful industry writers can give a wannabe a big jolt of motivation.  In that case I'd say it's money well spent.

Thanks for the tip TJ.  I just want to meet some of these guys.  It absolutely has nothing to do with screenwriting.  Maybe I should look towards the Austin Film Festival.

You can meet any of them after their panels or at the lunch.  Some are easier to talk to than others.  There's always a few that make it obvious they have no desire to speak to you.

Plus, after you stand there and listen to an up and coming throw their entire life story about trying to break in it makes it a little hard to say anything to them other than, "Big fan."  [shake hand, exit]

More than anything at the panel they talk about their experiences.  There isn't much advice about scripts or anything because obviously they don't know what to say, they don't know what's going to sell on the market, they just give a brief bit about their work and then open it up for Q and A.

Update from the conference.  Rian Johnson is awesome.  That is all.

Don't feel any obligation whatsoever to tell us why he's awesome.

I won't.

I will say he did show some people the footage from Looper that he used to get the distribution deal at Cannes.

Folks, I'm not one to form a lynch mob.  But if T&J rubs our noses in it any longer then I won't stand in your way.  That kind of aggression will not stand, friends.  No, sir, it will not.  Lording over us because somehow he's now besties with Rian J.  Phhh.  Ain't no thing.  I mean, that's just sad, right?  Rian made -- what -- one good movie, like five years ago?  Fluked it.  Give a million monkeys a million cameras and one of 'em will hit on an indy darling.

No.  This offensive gloating absolutely stops here.  You guys begin stretching the rope while I have a private word with our unsuspecting wunder boy...

"So... T&J.  Nashville.  Rian.  Did he... mention me?"

Good.

We're on the same page.  In no way, shape or form do I want details.
