Spec Script Sale: "Inherit the Earth"

Sony Pictures Entertainment buys science fiction horror spec script written by JT Petty "Inherit the Earth," based on Ashley Wood & Chris Ryall-created comic "Zombies vs. Robots." Per Deadline:
The film focuses on a young girl who is the last survivor on earth. She is protected by a group of robots from a pack of zombies that are intelligent and evolved.
I know several of you are fed up with Hollywood's fixation on comic books, superheroes, and zombies, so this represents the trifecta of ill news for you. Go have a virtual stiff drink on me.

Petty is repped by Gersh and Circle of Confusion.

By my count, this is the 5th spec script sale of 2011.
